Letters Patent of 8 June 2013

Maximilian, King of Æfira and of Our other Realms and Territories, to all to whom these Presents shall come, or whom the same may in any way concern, Greeting!

Whereas, by the enactment of the Marriage Act 2013, it is established and declared that any two persons, regardless of gender, have the full and equal right to marry; and whereas We have therefore thought fit to make provision regarding the styles and titles of persons in certain cases which may arise from the operation of that Act:

Know ye that We of Our special grace do by these Presents declare and proclaim that, where the Sovereign or a Peer of the Realm is married to a person of the same gender, that person shall have, hold and enjoy the same style and titles to which he or she would be entitled were he or she the widow of the Sovereign or Peer aforesaid.

Witness Ourself at Our City of Riverdale this eighth day of June in the seventh year of Our Reign and the year of the common era the two thousand and thirteenth.
