An Act to ratify the treaty of peace and friendship between the Autonomous Freehold of Aab and the Kingdom of Æfira; and to make provision regarding the territorial jurisdiction of Æfira in consequence thereof.

Whereas a treaty of peace and friendship has been concluded between the Autonomous Freehold of Aab and the Kingdom of Æfira, and is to enter into effect upon the exchange of instruments of ratification in accordance with the provisions thereof; and whereas the due observance of the treaty requires that provision be made by Parliament to prevent any infringement of the permanent territory of Aab:
Be it therefore enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1. Ratification of treaty
The treaty of peace and friendship between the Autonomous Freehold of Aab and the Kingdom of Æfira concluded and signed at Portland on2. Territorial jurisdiction of Æfira
Notwithstanding section 1 of the Jurisdiction Act 2008, the territorial jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Æfira shall not extend to any part of that territory in the southeast of the city of Portland, amounting to approximately 40 square meters, which comprised the permanent territory of the Autonomous Freehold of Aab on3. Treaty of Peace and Friendship between the Autonomous Freehold of Aab and the Kingdom of Æfira
The Doyen of the Autonomous Freehold of Aab and His Majesty the King of Æfira, being desirous of securing peace and establishing friendly relations between their respective States, have agreed as follows:
Article 1. There shall be perpetual peace and friendship between the Autonomous Freehold of Aab and the Kingdom of Æfira.
Article 2. The two States recognize each other’s full sovereignty, and undertake not to take any action inconsistent with that sovereignty.
Article 3. The two States shall respect the integrity of each other’s territory. Æfira shall ensure that the operation of its laws regarding its territorial jurisdiction does not infringe the permanent territory of Aab.
Article 4. Any dispute or conflict which may arise between the two States shall be settled exclusively by peaceful means.
Article 5. Correspondence between the two States may be conducted personally by the heads of the States or by their duly accredited ambassadors or envoys.
Article 6. The two States undertake, where appropriate, to co-operate and afford each other assistance in fields of common interest. This undertaking does not extend to the provision of military or defensive aid.
Article 7. This Treaty is subject to ratification, and shall enter into effect upon the exchange of instruments of ratification by the two States.
