An Act to Permit and Regulate the Marriage of a Citizen of this Realm to a Foreign Citizen.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal and Spiritual in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
[1] That any religious official of this most noble Realm shall be empowered to perform a marriage between a citizen of this most noble Realm and a citizen of a foreign nation, provided that the consent of His Majesty to the marriage shall be obtained.
[2] That no citizen of a foreign nation, nor any person who is not a citizen of this most noble Realm, shall gain the status of a citizen of this Realm by virtue of marriage to a citizen of this Realm.
[3] That this Act may be cited as the Marriages Act 2007.
