Parliament (Prolongation) Act 2012

An Act to extend the duration of the present Parliament.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. In relation to the present Parliament, section 2 of the Parliament (No. 2) Act 2009 shall have effect as if the reference to three years were a reference to five years.

2. This Act may be cited as the Parliament (Prolongation) Act 2012.
