An Act to decriminalize begging and to alter the definition of perjury.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1.  The Begging Act 2008 is hereby repealed, and shall henceforth be of no force and effect.
2.  Section 1 of part V of the Criminal Offenses Act 2008 is hereby repealed, and shall henceforth be of no force and effect.
3.  Section 5 of part VI of the Criminal Offenses Act 2008 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Perjury consists of violating a solemn oath or affirmation. Perjury is a felony.
4.  This Act may be cited as the Criminal Offenses (Amendment) Act 2009.
