An Act to Make Provision for the Establishment of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and for Related Purposes.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal and Spiritual in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1. A Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall be established, for the purpose of performing such duties with regard to the foreign affairs of the Realm as His Majesty may lawfully direct, and overseeing Ambassadors, Envoys and other diplomats accredited by His Majesty to foreign States.
2. His Majesty may appoint a Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and an Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs; and the aforementioned Secretary of State shall manage and oversee the business of the aforementioned Ministry; and the duties of the Secretary of State shall devolve upon the Under-Secretary of State whenever the Secretary of State shall be unable to discharge those duties.
3. His Majesty may promulgate Orders-in-Council to further prescribe the duties and responsibilities of the aforementioned Ministry and officers.
4. This Act may be cited as the Foreign Office Act 2007.
