An Act to Establish Salaries for the Lords and Members of Parliament.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal and Spiritual and Commons in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
[1] That, during the year 2008, the Lord High Treasurer shall pay from His Majesty’s Treasury salaries to the Lords and Members of Parliament, as follows:
[2] Each Lord of Parliament shall be paid fifteen æans for each day on which he or she attended a sitting of the House of Lords.
[3] Each Member of Parliament shall be paid twenty æans for each day on which he or she attended a sitting of the House of Commons.
[4] No Lord or Member of Parliament shall be paid any salary for any day on which he or she did not attend a sitting of his or her respective House.
[5] That this Act may be cited as the Salaries Act 2008.
