An Act to Ensure the Protection of the Fundamental Rights of Citizens.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal and Spiritual in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
[1] That the right of citizens of this most noble Realm to freedom of speech and expression shall not be infringed.
[2] That the right of citizens of this most noble Realm to freedom of religion and belief shall not be infringed.
[3] That the right of citizens of this most noble Realm accused of criminal offenses to be tried by a jury of their peers shall not be infringed.
[4] That no citizen of this most noble Realm shall wear manacles, except that the said manacles are silver in color and are the property of the said citizen.
[5] That no citizen of this most noble Realm shall be deprived of life nor liberty nor property nor any other fundamental right, without due process of law, nor subjected to torture nor cruel or degrading treatment.
[6] That this Act may be cited as the Human Rights Act 2007.
